Associate UX Designer – Apex Systems

Position Overview
Want to use design to change the face of diabetes care? Work with a cross‑functional team that includes senior designers, content strategists, tech writers, instructional designers, user researchers, human‑factors experts, product managers, and engineers.
Location
Acton, MA (2‑3 days on‑site)
Project Duration
6 months, possibility of extension or conversion to a full‑time role.
Rate
Negotiable, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Support the design of mobile app and cross‑platform digital experiences by contributing to user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Collaborate with senior designers, content strategists, tech writers, instructional designers, user researchers, human‑factors experts, product managers, and engineers to translate requirements into thoughtful design solutions.
- Participate in user research and usability testing activities, synthesizing findings and applying insights to design work.
- Learn and apply accessibility and usability best practices to ensure inclusive and user‑friendly experiences.
- Assist in maintaining and evolving Insulet’s design system by contributing to components and documentation.
- Use tools such as Figma, Miro, and Confluence to create and share design work.
- Participate in design critiques and team rituals, receiving and incorporating feedback to improve your craft.
- Help document design decisions and support design QA during development cycles; support development teams by collaborating closely with dev and testing teams, communicating efficiently between design and implementation.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as HCI, Design, Psychology, or equivalent experience.0–3 years of experience in UX or product design (internships or academic projects welcome).Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar.Exposure to user research methods and usability principles.Portfolio (or work samples) demonstrating design thinking, creativity, and attention to user needs.Interest in designing for web and mobile platforms; experience in healthcare or regulated industries is a plus.Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with on‑site collaboration in Acton, MA.Benefits Overview
