Assistant Controller

Our client, a well-established and growing food manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with strong manufacturing experience to step into a leadership role and make a meaningful impact.

Job Description

Assistant Controller Responsibilities :

  • Take full ownership of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead cost accounting efforts including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Collaborate closely with operations to analyze production costs and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial reporting systems.
  • Support external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Contribute to strategic financial planning and cross-functional initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams. Deep expertise in cost accounting and inventory management within a manufacturing setting. Strong ERP and Excel skills. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
