Duties & Responsibilities
- All Special Security Services personnel (SCIF Operations) performing the following tasks shall have a final Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- On a daily basis, the SCIF Operations shall perform TS-SCI related administrative tasks including filing, copying, faxing, scanning, and answering phones. The SCIF Operations shall coordinate meetings by checking availability and scheduling conference rooms.
- The SCIF Operations shall input, update, and extract data in security databases. The SCIF Operations shall provide a quarterly report using GFI and GFE, providing metrics on Security Division SCI services provided to NUWCDIVNPT technical codes and departments.
- Provide recommendations for updates to the SCIF SOP to the SSO for review and approval; update SOP accordingly. Government estimates occurrence 4 to 6 times a year.
- Attend weekly SSO meetings to provide technical inputs on security issues and updates on assigned tasks.
- On a contingency basis and during emergencies, provide security custodial services to safeguard classified material contained in designated SCIFs; may require work outside normal hours.
- Perform SCIF entry and exit inspections as directed; provide inspection status reports to the SSO.
- Maintain the SCIF access roster upon receipt of GFI.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the SCI SETA program and maintain all security training and documentation provided as GFI; conduct initial indoctrination, annual refresher training, and debriefings; record training completion in the personnel file.
- Daily duties include marking, cataloging, and securing incoming classified and controlled unclassified material in designated SCIFs.
- Inventory all classified material in designated SCIFs and provide an inventory status report to the SSO.
- Complete annual self-inspections of designated SCIFs using Government-provided checklists and submit the completed checklist to the SSO.
- Maintain established filing systems and logs for all classified or controlled material; destroy material as required and account for destroyed items.
- Brief individuals going on foreign travel and coordinate with counterintelligence for high-risk locations; obtain signatures on Foreign Travel Declarations and file accordingly; maintain a Foreign Travel log.
- Transmit security clearances for personnel traveling in support of Government events; average 3 to 5 transmissions per day.
- Brief and debrief designated personnel into approved SCI compartments; update systems of record; expect 2 to 5 TS-SCI briefings or debriefings weekly.
- Package and ship classified and controlled unclassified material; prepare shipment documentation and provide to the SSO; average 4 shipments per month; monitor shipments until receipt of transmittal.
Minimum / General Experience
Ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures.Ability to learn and perform duties of the position; relevant endorsements encouraged.Knowledge of security classification methods and SCI access processes; familiarity with information, personnel, and physical security programs related to SCI.Knowledge of inspections, investigations, and security-related analysis; ability to weigh variables affecting actions in security decisions.Minimum Education
