Position Summary :
The IT Specialist is a highly motivated and organized individual responsible for coordinating assisting the Clinical Informaticist in the day-to-day operations of the IT department. The IT Specialist will also provide support to the IT team, assist in the implementation of new systems, and ensure the team meets their goals and deadlines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute IT projects and initiatives, such as new hardware and software installations, system upgrades, network security, and system maintenance
- Monitor and update system performance and security
- Provide technical support to users
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
- Assist in the training of users on new systems and software
- Maintain strict confidentiality to sensitive and confidential information contained on computers, servers, networks and clinic operations.
- Be on call to fix issues which may occur after hours.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems and processes.
- Conduct regular audits of IT systems to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
- Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address IT needs.
- Assist in the budgeting and procurement process for IT equipment and services.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
- Ensure the timely resolution of IT service requests and incidents.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Participate in departmental Quality Assurance and Performance improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by Clinical Informaticist.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field and / or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and hardware.Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are a plus.APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS :
