Job Title : Quality Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Lab Technician to perform quality and chemistry-based tests, such as viscosity and specific gravity, to determine product specifications. The role involves ensuring timely quality and lab tests, documenting all necessary data, and performing algebraic calculations for product ratios and conversions. You will collaborate with production teams to inspect batch samples, packaged products, and verify product specifications, while communicating effectively with other quality personnel to resolve issues and non-conformances.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality and chemistry-based tests to determine product specifications.
  • Ensure quality and lab tests are conducted at the appropriate times and document all necessary data.
  • Perform algebraic equations to calculate ratios and conversions for various products.
  • Work with production to inspect batch samples and verify product specifications.
  • Fill out paper documentation and enter information into the quality system database.
  • Communicate effectively with other quality personnel to troubleshoot issues and non-conformances.
  • Complete certificates of analysis, certificates of compliance, and other quality documentation as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in traditional sciences such as Chemistry or Biology.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production personnel and quality leadership.
  • Fortitude to make decisions regarding production pauses to ensure product quality.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control and quality assurance.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to unique challenges.
  • Capability to handle multitasking and prioritize quality activities.
  • Work Environment

    This is a 1st shift role, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, averaging 40 to 45 hours per week. General hours are from 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm. The work environment offers opportunities for problem-solving with a variety of product tests and challenges. The team is tight-knit, providing a collaborative atmosphere to gain experience from the current quality team. There is a career path from Technician 1 to Technician 3, with potential for departmental growth. Training will be thorough, with guidance provided by test sheets detailing product test methods and documentation. Communication with production personnel and quality leadership is essential.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 / hr.
