The position involves working on modifications of large-scale assembly equipment, preparation stations, conveyance, and part delivery systems due to a significant upcoming model change for existing vehicles.

Job Description

Join our team as an Assembly Engineer on a 2-year contract with the possibility of extension until December 31st, 2027. This role is based at one of the largest manufacturing plants in the U.S., located in Princeton, Indiana. The position involves working on modifications of large-scale assembly equipment, preparation stations, conveyance, and part delivery systems due to a significant upcoming model change for existing vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team on the processing and assistance for the upcoming model change.
  • Participate in planning, moving from concept to production.
  • Manage equipment buyoffs and work with vendors.
  • Oversee bid specification development, quotations, and project / schedule management.
  • Handle a project list of approximately 20 different project line items at a time.
  • Report on project status throughout its duration.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ME, MET, Mechatronics).
  • 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
  • Experience budgeting projects over $500k, preferably closer to $1M.
  • Experience within an assembly production / manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for plant layouts.
  • Willingness to travel 5% of the time within the Midwest (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio).
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive industry within a large assembly production environment.
  • Work Environment

    Large OEM manufacturing plant with a strong team culture. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, starting between 6-6 : 30 am and ending around 4 pm, with flexibility for personal obligations. Expect to work 40 to 50 hours per week, with occasional weekend work required as project demands increase.

    This is a Contract position based out of Princeton, Indiana.

    Pay And Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 / hr.
