ACG Systems is hiring : Skilled RF Field Technician. Radio Technician provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting services to customers located across the US. Experience in the installation and / or support of radio and related communications infrastructure, base station radios, and related remote control units (tone, dial-in, and / or IP) is required.
Location notes : Hybrid work model at ACG Systems Headquarters in Annapolis, MD. Potential travel of 50%+ US travel, with possible international travel. Valid US passport desired.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and troubleshoot radio and related communications infrastructure.
- Work directly with customers to support repair and troubleshooting needs; coordinate with home office, other technicians and engineers, and vendors for installation and repair services as required.
- On-call and rapid response during scheduled work hours as needed.
- Collaborate to ensure timely and effective support and installation of RF equipment.
Qualifications
Technician I : 3–5 years of experience with one or more technician certifications from a radio manufacturer; experience troubleshooting / triage of portable, mobile and base radios; bench testing and board-level repairs a plus; at least 2 years of field experience with troubleshooting radio devices, installations, and relocation of customer RF equipment.Technician II : 6–10 years of experience with the same standards as Technician I plus integration skills of disparate technologies; console manufacturer experience for command & control applications.Senior Radio Technician : 10+ years of experience with the same standards as Technician II; additional experience and certifications for IP-centric radio and console products and advanced RF diagnostic skills.Knowledge and Skills : Proficiency in installation of radios, Voice Communication Systems / Consoles, RF cables, antennas; Land Mobile Radio (LMR), HF / VHF / UHF-AM, and Microwave experience preferred.Licenses / Certifications : FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) and / or R56 Standard (Motorola) certifications are highly preferred.Location and Schedule
Location : ACG Systems Headquarters, Annapolis, MD; hybrid work model.Travel : approximately 50–75% of the time; potential on-call rapid response during scheduled work hours.Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is negotiable and highly competitive, contingent upon candidate's relevant skills and the established work schedule (1099 vs. Full-Time).Full-time positions include benefits and bonuses.Full benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, 401(k), and HAS.Other Requirements
