Position : Early Head Start Co-Teacher
Hours : 37.5 hours per week / 12 months per year
Locations : Philmont and Valatie – In Person
Wages : $20 per hour
Status : Full Time - Non-Exempt
Reports to : Education / Operations Manager
Position Summary
Early Head Start works with infants and toddlers from eligible families to support their early development and prepare them for future learning. Early Head Start Co-Teachers work as a team in using evidence-and play-based learning models and have an additional responsibility to collaborate with family members and other Early Head Start staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities. The Early Head Start Teacher maintains a nurturing and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports the healthy growth and development of young children and enhances school readiness.
Essential Education and Experience
- An Infant / Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR comparable credential AND have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development
- One or more years of experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood education or care setting

Clean, valid, New York State driver's license is preferred and may be required at some locationsFollowing an offer of employment, candidates are subject to an inquiry with the New York State Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment and a background checkMedical examination, including tuberculin (PPD) testResponsibilities
