Receiving Supervisor will supervise all receiving processes and personnel as listed below. Assign and delegate receiving tasks and work load to receiving personnel. Perform random inspections on work of receiving personnel. Responsible for implementing all training and ensuring that all receiving personnel follow procedures as trained. The overall cleanliness and organization of the receiving department is the responsibility of the receiving supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct morning meeting with the receiving department to discuss production expectations for the day.
- Review and maintain receiving dashboard for inbound shipments and orders received.
- Make sure all orders are put on the receiving dash as the orders arrive at GCM.
- Make sure all inbound material is properly marked with the customer’s name and purchase order number.
- Handle orders one at a time to avoid delays or congestion in the order entry process.
- Oversee the stamping of incoming valves assigned work orders and prepare for production.
- Training of new employees by following a training plan. The supervisor will obtain the training binder and ensure new hires follow and complete training.
- Significant overtime and weekend work required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to supervise and motivate others.Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8-hour shifts.Must be able lift up to 40 Lbs. on occasion.Basic computer skills.Experience in material handling.Experience operating a forklift.Problem solving skills.Ability to work as a team.Strong attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication.Must be able to speak & write English.Education and Qualifications
High School or GED required.3 years’ experience in Shipping or Receiving.Forklift Operator Training Course.
