Job Title : System Support Engineer / IT Generalist (On-Site Role - Brooklyn, NY)

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000 annually (based on experience)

Location : Brooklyn, NY (On-site with occasional off-hours support)

Employment Type : Direct Hire (Temp-to-Hire option available)

What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as the primary IT contact for staff across the organization
  • Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity (Windows, macOS, Office 365, Zoom)
  • Perform routine system maintenance-patching, backups, updates, and monitoring
  • Manage inventory of devices and peripherals (laptops, phones, etc.)
  • Handle user onboarding / offboarding and account setup
  • Work with external vendors and MSPs to resolve escalated issues
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and vendor relationships
  • Provide A / V support for meetings and events
  • Assist with IT projects like OS rollouts and mobile device management
  • Escalate complex problems to senior engineers or third-party support
  • Lead or support internal tech training and workshops
  • What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in both Windows and Apple environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (including Access), remote support tools, and ticketing platforms
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi) and system administration
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
  • A customer-first attitude and a track record of building trust across teams
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Exposure to Linux systems
  • Experience working in nonprofit, cultural, or mission-driven settings
