About the role
Second Harvest is committed to ending hunger and believes strategic partnerships are essential to that mission. We are looking for a Grant Writer to join our Foundation / Grants Team and help secure funding that fuels our programs and services. In this role, you’ll contribute toward the goal of achieving a $7M annual revenue in FY26 by building relationships, crafting compelling proposals, and connecting funders to meaningful impact in the community.
As a Grant Writer, you’ll partner with the Foundation Philanthropy Manager and collaborate across departments to translate organizational priorities into persuasive narratives for foundations and corporations. You’ll manage an assigned portfolio of funders and prospects, guiding engagement from initial outreach through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
You’ll also help shape funding strategies, align grant proposals with program needs, and create tailored materials that highlight the impact of Second Harvest. You’ll maintain ongoing relationships with funders through communication, events, and updates on the impact of giving.
