JOB SUMMARY :

The Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of their unit. This Supervisor must ensure timely, safe, compassionate care for all patients of their unit.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Oversees that all staff members carry out their duties safely, timely, compassionately and efficiently including providing patient care directly as necessary. Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives as well as always promoting service excellence.
• Creates staffing schedules (in coordination with charge nurses) in a fair manner that promotes employee satisfaction while maintaining appropriate coverage based on regulatory guidelines. Completes regular rounding, processing payroll timely and tracks staff attendance.
• Directly communicates with physicians and other members of management to resolve conflict or other issues quickly and effectively as well as issues occuring with patients and family members.
• Responsible for timely evaluation, coaching, educating and counseling of all staff members. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed by all staff including compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
• Assist in preparing and adhering to annual department budget.
• Responsible for maintaining a risk free environment on their unit as well as ongoing performance improvement. Maintains department TJC standards
• Must be responsible for staffing the unit as needed while vacancies exist.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
