American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with PCU and cardiac monitoring skills for a Med / Tele stepdown position on nights in a Level 2 Trauma acute care setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Med / Tele / PCU stepdown unit with 32 bedsAdult and geriatric patient population including cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, Covid Bipap, medical patients with cardiac issues, general surgery, pneumonia, influenza, and sepsisNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4-5, occasionally 1 : 5-6 on nights, with PCU overflow at 1 : 3Uses Epic EMR for chartingRequired to work night shifts, 12 hours in lengthEvery other weekend and holiday requiredFloating to PCU, Med-Surg, and ER holds / boarding as neededRequired to titrate cardiac drips including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose DopamineFirst to float when neededMust reside at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates must not have worked with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year as direct employeesScrubs in any color are acceptableTwo 12-hour orientation shifts provided at the start of the assignmentTeam support includes charge RN on both shifts and patient care techs with a goal of 1 : 10 ratioTelemonitoring is supported by both in-room / portable monitors and a monitor tech at the nurse stationReading and interpretation of own telemetry strips are requiredMaximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed for the contract; additional RTO will not be approvedFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
