Job Description
This professional role involves advocating for victims of violent crimes such as sexual battery, domestic violence, and homicides. The advocate facilitates victims' participation in the criminal justice process, assesses support needs, and refers victims to social agencies for services like victim compensation, counseling, shelter, and legal protection. The position requires follow-up on cases and victims' well-being, ensuring their rights are protected and they are informed of available community resources.
The employee will work under the Violent Crimes Intervention Administrator, providing expert guidance in this field, including informing victims of their rights per Florida State Statute (F.S. 960.001) and ensuring proper follow-up activities.

Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience, including six months of relevant experience, may qualify.
