Job Description
Optimus Technologies seeks a Field Diesel Technician to provide first-class service to our customers' Vector System-equipped vehicles. This customer-facing role involves company-paid travel to customer locations for installation, service, and support of the Vector System and SMARTFuel. Comprehensive training will be provided during onboarding.
This hourly position ($36.00-$40.62 / hour) is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with approximately 70% of work at customer locations.
Our field employees work autonomously, contribute to organizational goals, and may liaise with other departments. There are growth opportunities within the company.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert on Vector System electronics, software, hardware, and mechanical components.
- Complete system installations, including OEM component dislocation and relocation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Perform system testing after project completion.
- Interact confidently with customers and address their questions.
- Maintain communication with customers about work progress.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, email, or in person.
- Ensure customer needs are met reliably and effectively.
- Research and resolve technical issues using internal and external resources.
- Assist with assembly of Vector System components.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty vehicle or equipment installation, diagnostics, and / or repair experience.Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems diagnostics.Ability to read and follow detailed schematics and documentation.Experience with hand and power tools; quick learner of new tools.Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google tools.Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.Preferred Qualifications
ASE Diesel certification or equivalent, military experience, or similar work experience.At least 5 years of relevant heavy-duty vehicle or equipment experience.Extensive electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.Proficiency with MS Office and GSuite.Ability to work independently under pressure, manage timelines, and prioritize tasks.High-quality work ethic and customer satisfaction focus.Mastery of installation and servicing tools.Other Job Requirements
