Long Term Substitute- Special Education Teacher & 4-Hour Food Service Helper

Position Title : Long Term Substitute- Special Education Teacher 15 : 1 : 1.(November-June)

Position Summary / Purpose :

There is an immediate opening for a special education long-term substitute teacher at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. This position will begin as soon as possible and will continue through June 26, 2026.

Requirements & Qualifications :

• NYS Certification in Special Education is required (1st - 6th Grades)
• Evidence of successful teaching experience with special education students in self-contained environments
• Evidence of successful implementation of instructional support to struggling learners and / or students in need of enrichment opportunities
• Demonstrated knowledge of technology and its application in the classroom
• Ability to plan for and implement engaging and hands-on lessons
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and curriculum development, including planning, execution and evaluation of materials, supplies, and lessons
• Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, students and administrators on a regular basis
• Ability to reflect on the teaching and learning process—allowing for growth and continuous improvement

Location :   Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District / JFK High School

Hours :  10-month position (September - June) / Monday - Friday 10 : 00 a.m. - 2 : 00 p.m.

Reports to :   Food Service Helper in Charge and Food Service Director

Salary / Pay Scale :   Per the CSEA Contract; Minimum Wage $15.50 / hour

Job duties :

Requirements :   High School Diploma and reliable transportation required.
