Must-Have :

Experience working with children is required.

Must be willing to care for adult patients as well.

Strong clinical skills are essential due to less experienced permanent staff.

Description :

This position involves caring for both pediatric and adult patients in a mixed unit.

The nurse will be responsible for monitoring the health and safety of patients.

Dysrhythmia exam must be passed within two attempts prior to signing a contract.

Failure to score 80% on the dysrhythmia exam in two attempts will lead to a six-month disqualification for specific locations.

There is a set ratio of 1 : 3-4 for pediatric patients and 1 : 5 for adult patients.

Common diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, dehydration, surgical recovery, and various medical conditions.

The nurse will not be responsible for titrating drips and will provide primary care.

The nurse will need to read telemetry strips as necessary.

The shift schedule includes every other weekend and a holiday rotation to ensure coverage.

If census drops, floating to other units or responsibilities may be required.

Scrub color is navy.

The nurse will also be expected to assist in stabilizing patients for transfer when required.
