The Production Supervisor (PS) is the internal face of the TransMachine MTT organization to the front-line workers and the external face of TransMachine MTT to our customers for operational challenges.He or she drives and unit output for the entire TransMachine MTT organization based on a combination knowledge of transmission technical specifications and effective utilization of TransMachine MTT employee and machine capabilities.The PS utilizes lean manufacturing systems, Six Sigma, and ISO (International Standards Organization) standard engineering practices to drive timely unit output.The role leads a dynamic mix of unskilled, semi-skilled, and highly skilled front line team members.The PS must manage these team members effectively to achieve TransMachine MTT’s strategic unit output objectives.
Finally, the PS is on the “tip of the spear” for new product development, customer technical questions, and internal production troubleshooting.The PS is owner, promoter, and arbiter of the TransMachine MTT mission to drive transformational customer experiences in the mobility space by enabling uptime via replacement and rebuilt products.
Manage a team of 10+ front line workers consisting of different skill sets ranging from unskilled to highly skilled.These functions include washing and sandblasting, welding, manual machining, vertical CNC (computer numerical control) milling and horizontal turning, and gear hobbing / shaping.
Oversee incoming inspection.
Work with quality department on customer engineering tasks including troubleshooting and new product development.
Manage customer order prioritization and new product manufacturing in a constantly changing and evolving manufacturing environment.
Trouble shoot CNC and manual machining issues with front-line workers.
Maintain stock of CNC and manual machine inserts and cutting tools required to execute rebuild product manufacturing.
5+ years of CNC or machining manufacturing or plant operations experience
~ Knowledge of Caterpillar, Allison, Dana, ZF, or Eaton transmission applications preferred
~ Lean Systems, ISO manufacturing, and Six Sigma experience preferred
~ Experience with CNC machines and manual lathes / drill presses
~ Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
~ Ability to manage daily employee relationships for 10+ team members
