Tribeca Rooftop & Tribeca 360° are high-profile, high-volume, upscale events & catering establishments located in New York City. We are seeking part-time line cooks to enhance our existing culinary team!
Ideal candidate must possess thorough knowledge of current food trends and food preparation; you will work alongside our Chef’s to help lead daily production of event menu items and / or working events. Ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, work well as a team, and be willing to learn new tasks.
Job summary :
- Volume Banquet or Catering experience preferred, but will train all hires
- Self-motivated & flexible work schedule (AM, PM, weekends)
- Follow standards set by Chef team.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes.
- Handle and store ingredients and food in a correct and sanitary manner.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of other people, such as waitstaff, porters, and management.
- Assure proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices are followed
- Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle prolonged heat exposure and work shifts.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating on preparation, production, and organization. Support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible.
- Knowledge of safety procedures include safe temperatures for cooking, cooling and storing to avoid foodborne illness.
- Maintain proper storing temperatures according to the DOH regulations
- Keep equipment clean and in proper operating conditions.
- Demonstrate organizational ability by proactively prioritizing needs and effectively managing resources.
- Actively engage in your own personal development to benefit the business and improve your personal skills
- Maintains own working area, materials and company property are clean and in good shape; reports any issues to the head chef
Qualifications :
4 years’ experience in a culinary experience in a high volume , fast paced NYC kitchen (required)Catering experience (a plus)Cook from scratch experienceNYC Food Handler CertifiedFlexibility : must work overtime when needed and assist the workload of othersFloating schedule (Mon-Sun, nights & weekends)Job Types : Full-time, Part-time
