Patient Access Representative

Location : Blair Medical Associates Altoona, PA Schedule : Full-Time | MondayFriday | Day Shift

UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team at the Blair Medical location. This front-line role is essential to ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for our patients. If you're organized, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients, verify demographics and insurance
  • Schedule appointments and manage wait / reschedule lists
  • Collect copays and process payments using UPAY
  • Assist patients with Welcome Kiosks and AVS (After Visit Summary)
  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally
  • Troubleshoot and report issues with office equipment
  • Support patients with insurance questions and UPMC / BMA policies
  • Follow department workflows and assist during system downtimes

    Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Medical Secretarial School graduate (preferred)
  • 6+ months of related experience (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
