Licensing Supervisor
The Licensing Supervisor oversees the operational licenses and permits for approximately 2,500 convenience stores. You will train, guide, and develop your team, foster a collaborative and respectful workplace, empower your direct reports by setting clear expectations, communicate effectively, and use conflict-resolution and problem-solving strategies as needed. You will also develop and implement both routine and advanced reporting processes to support daily operations and company-wide licensing initiatives. You may serve as a liaison with external licensing consultants, attorneys, and law firms, and frequently engage with internal stakeholders across Legal, Tax, Accounting, Real Estate, and senior corporate and operations leadership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the licensing and permitting application process, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements in multiple U.S. states.
- Develop, train, and mentor direct reports. Demonstrate strong leadership by building trust and cultivating a respectful, collaborative environment that encourages growth and development.
- Create and maintain licensing processes that reflect end-to-end requirements. Generate ad hoc reports from licensing software including, but not limited to, data such as license expiration dates, jurisdictional data, store counts by license type, and other critical metrics to support company operations and management of licenses.
- Proactively communicate with operations teams regarding licensing projects, initiatives, and timelines. Address time-sensitive issues promptly to mitigate operational or financial risk.
- Drive departmental alignment with strategic company goals. Continuously seek improvements and efficiencies, consistently raising standards for yourself, your team, and stakeholderswith a customer-first mindset.
Specific Knowledge and Skills
Associates degree preferred; equivalent college or work experience considered.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and License HQStrong critical thinking, strategic planning, problem-solving, leadership, and delegation capabilities.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage personal and team priorities effectively.Circle K is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
