American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position in California with a day shift schedule and a focus on high-acuity pediatric care.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital settingCare for patients ranging from birth to 18 years old with high acuity and high census needsDay shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, 7 : 00–19 : 30Every other weekend requiredNo call requirementFloating required, primarily to NICU and CVICU, with potential to float to other areasUse of Cerner EMR is required for documentationMultiple specialized procedures including management of arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO, and care for metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, trauma, and cardiology patientsMust be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignmentMaximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) is allowed, and none in the first weekFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyMust be willing to float as travelers are first to float when neededSelf-reported online modules are required during orientationApplicants must not be local; candidates living within 50 miles are not eligibleFormer staff must have a separation period of at least one year before being considered for a travel positionCandidates with prior assignments longer than eight weeks at similar high-volume, high-reputation facilities are preferred\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license in hand is required at time of consideration; no pending or temporary licenses acceptedAt least 2 years of recent PICU experience in a high acuity, high census environmentCurrent certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and PALSPrior use of Cerner for chartingMust provide two supervisory references from the PICU or most recent assignment, obtained within the last year\n Benefits\n
