- EVP, Product Delivery Location : Hybrid; Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Chicago, IL preferred Summary The Vice President of Solutions Engineering reports to the Senior Vice President of Product Delivery and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process and working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate.
- This role will articulate technology and product positioning to business and technical users while identifying all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Additionally, this role provides strategic leadership, oversight and tactical direction to the Solutions Engineering team.
- Responsibilities Leads and grows a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers and Implementation Managers.
- Participates in customer-facing meetings to align strategies and determine business and technical requirements that will be used in developing solutions or solution alternatives Determines the fit between a client’s requested deployment and the defined deployment criteria of the data center Effectively leads solution requirement gathering sessions with clients and vendors Designs and documents customer solutions / environments based on specific customer requirements Prepares and delivers technical proposals, design architectural overviews, and in-depth guided tours of facilities for existing and potential customers Responsible for driving opportunities by supporting sales teams in designing, positioning, and proving technology solutions Reviews lease terms and align with the customer’s technical requirements Leads regional design team partners to adopt and accommodate standards and best practices for design Engages in detailed network, power, cooling, and space assessment of customer's current and proposed IT environments Prepares cost estimates by studying drawings and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Works closely with the sales team on RFP / RFI responses and proposal preparations Reviews RFP / quotes provided by 3 rd -party contractors and makes recommendations based on customer requirements and RDC requirements including margins Assists in facility space planning and management Engages customers to extract critical technical and business drivers that may position client deliverables Works with 3 rd -party contractors and vendors to aid in the design of large customer infrastructure deployment requirements Develops and writes a bill of materials and scope of work to meet large customer infrastructure deployment requirements Periodically travels for sales meetings, conferences, and training Qualifications 10+ years of experience in technical leadership roles within the data center, cloud, or IT infrastructure industry working with hyperscale clients Proven track record of leading global Solutions Engineering or Technical Sales teams.
- Deep knowledge of data center systems including power, cooling, cabling, network architecture, and compliance (e.g., Uptime Tier levels, ASHRAE standards).
- Strong business acumen and experience working with enterprise and hyperscale customers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders.
