Shaw Industries is looking for an Expeditor Office II to properly prepare products for shipping. An individual should be able to handle the stress of meeting frequent deadlines and making sure that product is ready for customers on time.

Responsibilities :

Verify all outbound freight is labeled correctly.

Prep all outbound pallets for loading.

Monitoring loading of trailers assuring loading process is performed correctly.

Notifying appropriate personnel when a shipping problem occurs.

Expediting rush cuts for shipping.

Using the computer terminal to determine the current status of a roll.

Attendance is an essential Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy.

You must adhere to our normal work schedule, i.e., starting and stopping times, and where applicable rotating days.

Must be able to work overtime when needed.

Responsible to expedite the loading of freight onto trailers and minimize lift truck down time.

Perform load securing as needed for outbound loads.

Associates must possess necessary critical thinking skills in order to make decisions quickly when needed.

Making sure that the product is transferred from one distribution center to another in a proper and expedient manner to meet deadlines.

Dealing with customers when a shipping problem arises.

Keeping management and the shipping department informed about problems in shipping procedures.

Expediting products for shipping.

Using the computer terminal to determine the current status of a product.

Attendance is an essential function of the job. Must comply with the Corporate Attendance Policy.

Must adhere to a normal work schedule, i.e., starting and stopping times, and where applicable rotating days.

Must work necessary overtime.

Must perform duties of Lead as needed. (Must be trained on Lead duties)

Communicate with other departments and plants to assure that customer needs are met.

Enter data into databases and forms to document / prevent future nonconformities in product.

Non-Essential Duties :

Helping wrap rolls of product

Perform any duties you are OJT certified to do.

Helping to keep the department area clean.

Knowledge / Skills :

Should be able to read and write numbers. Should be able to communicate clearly. Must be able to use the computer keyboard for status reports. Must be able to receive and give instructions. Must be able to make decisions and direct others. Must be able to analyze, comprehend, and interpret data. Must be able to record data and respond to data. Must be able to handle the stress of meeting frequent deadlines. Must have leadership skills. Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements :

Should be able to stand on feet or walk for 5-7 hours per day. Should be able to lift, reach, or carry objects when necessary. Should have adequate vision.

Driving Requirements :

Must be able to operate a golf cart. When needed, must be able to operate and fork or pole lift truck.

Safety / Training Requirements :

Must complete required training. Must adhere to all corporate and facility safety rules including use of proper PPE for specific job tasks.
