Your Opportunity
Our commissioning group focuses on three essential points for every project from day one : communication, documentation, and verification. These are integral to all quality assurance applications. The data center industry is continually evolving, and this is an ideal opportunity for candidates who enjoy technically challenging projects with cutting-edge designs. This position is open to any location with a Stantec office presence for the right candidate, in addition to preferred locations listed.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in all phases of commissioning projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of work, with various complex features.
- Lead and perform engineering design reviews, prepare commissioning scripts and reports, direct client-site testing, and train on-site staff.
- Prepare equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures; develop SOPs and MOPs; produce comprehensive commissioning documentation.
- Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports; develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tracking tools.
- Prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, deficiencies, and operation / Maintenance manuals.
- Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other commissioning-related documentation.
- Lead and participate in commissioning activity meetings; interface with construction contractors, vendors, and testing technicians.
- Lead and conduct tests and compile all testing procedure results; perform integrated system testing and load bank testing.
- Lead, develop, and administer functional tests for various building MEP systems (HVAC distribution, AHUs, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution).
- Assist in leading and managing internal and external resources as the lead electrical commissioning professional on site.
- Oversee all aspects of commissioning services for both new and existing buildings.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; strong documentation and client interaction.High competency in technical writing, systems development, and utilization; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD.Extensive knowledge of MEP systems and controls design, installation, and operation a plus.Strong presentation skills and ability to convey complex technical information to a wide audience; proven documentation and report writing.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.Proven track record in commissioning planning, functional testing, building performance investigations, re- / retro-commissioning, or preventative maintenance and system troubleshooting for new and existing buildings.Licensed PE in Electrical Discipline a plus; LEED AP accreditation a plus; CXA, AABC, ACG certification desired.Education and Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering service delivery, consulting, or design with proven MEP experience.Data Center / Mission Critical experience preferred; prior experience on mission critical facility construction sites is a plus.Technical / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.About Stantec

Pay Range and Benefits
Locations in MN, VT, and various CA, NY areas : Min Salary $102,100.00 – Max Salary $153,200.00Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD and various CA, NJ areas : Min Salary $112,300.00 – Max Salary $168,500.00Pay Transparency : In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided where required. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Some roles may be bonus eligible.
