Job Summary :

The Molecular Biology Research Associate will support microbial gene editing and gene discovery efforts within the Molecular-based Discovery group. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting day-to-day laboratory activities, assisting in CRISPR / Cas-mediated gene editing, performing molecular analyses, and supporting plant-microbe interaction studies. This role requires strong technical laboratory skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform daily laboratory tasks including media preparation, microbial culturing, seed planting, and plant care within growth chambers
• Assist with CRISPR / Cas-mediated gene editing, including colony selection and transfer in a timely manner
• Perform nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) extractions, PCR, and gel electrophoresis for product analysis
• Conduct disease bioassays, collect and analyze experimental data, and report findings to the manager
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient laboratory spaces
• Follow established lab protocols and safety procedures at all times
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills :

Education :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Plant Pathology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field
