Responsibilities Work in a hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting Majority of patients are birth to 2 years old, with patient age up to 21 Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Self-scheduling model Requires 4 weekend shifts per month Must be available to work at least two out of three holiday weekends Floating to NICU and CTICU required, with travelers first to float Uses Epic for documentation and charting You'll typically care for critically ill infants, children, and young adults up to age 21 Pre-assignment Epic training modules are required and must be completed before starting First-time travelers are welcome to apply Locals within 50 miles are accepted at a different rate All requested time off must be pre-approved and included at the time of application No on-call requirement Must comply with holiday coverage expectations RTO (Requested Time Off) is limited to 5 days and must be declared in advance Requirements Active CA RN license in hand Minimum 2 years of PICU RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Certifications required : Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Epic EMR experience preferred No prior permanent employment at this facility allowed No Nursys hits accepted One reference from within the past 2 years required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627585.
