CDL A Driver - Cattle Hauler

We are seeking an experienced and responsible Cattle Hauler to transport livestock safely and efficiently between various locations. The Cattle Hauler will ensure the welfare of the animals during transit, adhere to transportation regulations, and maintain a high standard of care throughout the process. This role requires long-distance driving, attention to detail, and knowledge of cattle handling.Key Responsibilities : Transport cattle to designated locations such as farms, auctions, or processing facilities. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cattle, minimizing stress and injury to the animals. Inspect the condition of cattle before and after transport to report any abnormalities or injuries. Adhere to all livestock transportation regulations, including animal welfare and biosecurity protocols. Monitor the health and well-being of the cattle during transport, including maintaining proper ventilation and temperature. Perform regular vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure the truck and trailer are in good working order. Keep accurate records of mileage, maintenance, and transportation logs. Communicate with farmers, feedlots, and other stakeholders regarding delivery schedules. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the truck and trailer after each haul. Comply with all state and federal regulations regarding livestock transport, including weight limits, route planning, and documentation. Job Requirements : Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Must not have manual transmission restriction. Experience in hauling livestock, particularly cattle. Knowledge of cattle handling practices and animal welfare standards. Ability to work long hours and travel long distances, often requiring overnight stays. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to physically load, secure, and transport livestock. Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with farmers, customers, and dispatchers. Domicile located in Missouri Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs). Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Prolonged periods of sitting and driving.
