Overview
Manufacturing Engineer – Rail Infrastructure at Siemens. We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing production facility. This role is responsible for setting up new production lines, optimizing existing processes, and driving continuous improvement across the plant. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving skills, and a passion for Lean and Six Sigma in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- New Product Line Setup : Lead the planning, design, and implementation of production lines for new products, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
- Production Support : Provide day-to-day engineering support to the production team by troubleshooting equipment, addressing process issues, and implementing corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for waste reduction, process standardization, and cost savings using Lean Six Sigma tools and structured problem-solving methods.
- Documentation & Standards : Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Operations to support new product introductions and improve existing workflows.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer : Provide training and mentorship to production personnel to enhance understanding of new processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Professional Development : Participate in training and learning opportunities, including occasional travel to other locations for product or process training.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and production flow.Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and root cause analysis.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Preferred / What will make you stand out
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or willingness to obtain).Hands-on experience with process layout design, PFMEA, and time studies.CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).Previous experience in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume production environment.Benefits & Perks
