Responsibilities Hospital setting on a 45-bed Med / Surg unit with general surgical and medical patients Patient population includes gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, orthopedic surgery, Covid, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory cases Day shift position, 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30am to 7 : 00pm Every third weekend and every other holiday required First to float within skillset, including potential to float to nearby campuses with advance notice Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 Uses Epic EMR, recent experience required Duties may include precepting students and new-hires in a teaching hospital environment Expect to work with a highly experienced staff and support team Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos COVID-19 vaccine not required but subject to change Three call-ins may result in termination No on-call or call back responsibilities Hours in orientation week may differ from standard schedule Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum two years of strong Med / Surg experience and at least one travel assignment required Recent Epic charting experience required Proficiency with PIV insertion, chest tube / indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEG / NG tube care, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, and dysphagia screening Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills Candidates must live outside a 40-mile radius of the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622415.
