This role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and expand fundraising initiatives within a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving lives through type 1 diabetes research and advocacy. The Development Manager will cultivate strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners to drive revenue, engagement, and program growth. This position blends strategy and hands-on execution, providing visibility into key events while fostering collaboration across local chapters and national teams. You will be instrumental in shaping event portfolios, implementing innovative fundraising tactics, and inspiring donor and volunteer participation. Success in this role requires a high-energy, results-oriented mindset, combined with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Your work will directly impact the organization’s mission and the lives of individuals living with type 1 diabetes.

Accountabilities

  • Implement and execute revenue and engagement plans across assigned fundraising events to drive year-over-year growth.
  • Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual and corporate donors, ensuring achievement of personal and chapter revenue goals.
  • Partner with volunteers and event leadership to recruit, train, and engage supporters for maximum impact.
  • Lead cultivation events and audience engagement initiatives to inspire giving and participation.
  • Collaborate with national and local teams to align strategies, monitor KPIs, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Represent the organization in the community, promoting awareness, advocacy, and mission-driven initiatives.
  • Maintain administrative and operational policies, including fundraising platforms, reporting, and compliance with organizational standards.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of fundraising experience in mission-driven organizations, with revenue responsibility exceeding $500k.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale events, such as walks or galas, including donor and volunteer engagement.
  • Strong relationship management skills with donors, volunteers, and community partners; existing knowledge of the territory is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and engage supporters.
  • Collaborative, energetic, and creative team player with high integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexibility for local travel, evening, and weekend work as required.
  • Benefits

  • Base salary : $62,000 – $65,000.
  • Remote work with occasional local travel.
