SUMMARY
A fluoroscopic radiologic technologist works performs radiologic technology duties in a clinical setting; working alongside physicians and clinicians; utilizing radiologic equipment and fluoroscopy equipment on patients in a compassionate and friendly and safe manner.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Assists physician with questions regarding patients and positioning of C-arm with each patient.
2. Operates radiology equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes under direction of physician.
3. Performs high quality radiologic and fluoroscopy exams on incoming patients. Update patient fluoroscopy log, daily and monthly.
4. Monitors patient’s wellbeing during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
5. Positions patients in a safe manner and set equipment controls to set exposure factors.
6. Minimizes radiation to patients using state mandated techniques.
7. Talks to patients through the steps that are being performed and answer any questions or concerns they may have regarding the procedure.
8. Maintains a clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
9. Monitors video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contract to improve picture quality.
10. Reviews and evaluates film and images to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
11. Documents patient’s services in patients files based on office standard procedures.
