As a Registered Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill and intermediate-care patients. This dual-role requires adaptability and clinical expertise to care for patients with complex, rapidly changing conditions. You will work closely with physicians, therapists, and other members of the care team in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes safety, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments of patients' conditions.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring critical or intermediate levels of care, including those with cardiac, respiratory, or multi-system complications.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments accurately and promptly.
- Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies, following established protocols.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and emotional support.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in the medical record.
- Adhere to infection control and safety policies to ensure a safe environment.
- Comply with facility policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Qualifications :
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska (or compact license).Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in ICU or PCU / Stepdown setting.Current certifications : BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required. PALS preferred.Proficiency in managing ventilated patients and critical IV infusions.Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.Ability to function independently and within a team in high-pressure situations.Benefits :
