Charge Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Job Type : Full-time, 7 PM - 7 AM (Mon-Tues-Thurs or Wed-Thurs-Fri weekly)

Position Summary :

The Emergency Department (ED) at Spring View Hospital thrives on teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. In our 11-bed unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support. Your expertise will shape exceptional patient journeys every day, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance patient wellbeing.

Your Responsibilities :

As a Charge Nurse, you will :

Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during your shift.

Determine staffing levels and assignments based on availability, abilities, census, patient acuity, and workflow.

Provide direct patient care as needed.

Assist staff with problem-solving and float between teams.

Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and address any issues affecting outcomes.

Respond to patient care complaints and manage them through established channels.

Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, admissions, discharges, and coordinating transfers.

Ensure staff has the necessary equipment and supplies for safe, quality care.

Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Create an environment that fosters professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education / Experience :

Associate's degree in nursing required

Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred

1+ years of ER experience preferred

Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Certifications :

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

ACLS certification within 6 months of hire required

PALS certification within 6 months of hire required

License :

Current RN license in the state of Kentucky required

Certification in area of specialty preferred
