POSITION SUMMARY :

Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing shop floor. Ensure production schedules are met, quality products are produced, and all Team Members work in a safe, productive, and efficient manufacturing environment. The position reports to the COO.

PREREQUISITES :

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, or related field preferred. Five years of experience working in a manufacturing supervisory position preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Good computer skills. The candidate will support the company’s interest in quality manufacturing and timely deliveries.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Know and carry out AC’s Mission Statement : “To provide an environment where all Team Members are treated with dignity and respect, and to deliver products and services that exceed customer expectations.”
  • Know and carry out AC, Inc. 2020 and Beyond requirements.
  • Team supervision and leadership. Directs the work of Supervisors to coordinate within shop departments to make maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, and material within quality standards and production schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Evaluates performance of assigned employees.
  • Works with Management and Supervisors regarding hiring qualified manufacturing candidates, transfers, and promotions.
  • Ability to train and develop Team Members at various skill levels.
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure that all quality policies and ISO procedures are followed.
  • Enforces safety and company regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Lifts and / or carries 20 pounds regularly. Reaches for drawings, tools, sketches, paper. Walks to obtain parts, drawings. Sits while doing paperwork. Stands 80% of day. Visually inspects materials, parts, and completed work of subordinates. Reads, compiles, computes, and records data. Confers with Supervisors.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED :

Blueprints, work instructions, route sheets, calculator, telephone; desk, company manuals, machine and power tools, computer, notebook, pens / pencils, manufacturing schedules, diagrams / sketches, standard and special-purpose hand tools and power tools, assembly fixtures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Normally works inside 95% works outside 5 %, if needed; exposed to odors in paints and solvents; exposed to grinding dust, when grinding; exposed to noise from machining and sawing processes.  Exposed to hot temperatures in the plant during the summer months and exposed to colder temperatures in the plant during the winter months.
