Your Impact

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer at Nekoosa , you will drive efficiency, safety, and operational excellence across our specialty paper manufacturing operations. You’ll champion a culture of continuous improvement, delivering measurable results through streamlined processes, waste elimination, and equipment optimization. Your expertise will help us achieve sustainable cost savings, improve productivity, and enhance overall quality across multiple sites.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Lead cross-functional teams through CI initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools such as Kaizen, 8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC, and FMEA.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis to identify process inefficiencies, track performance trends, and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, technology, and finance to align CI projects with organizational goals.
  • Partner with suppliers to evaluate and implement equipment and materials that drive productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Integrate CI culture into day-to-day operations by standardizing systems, improving safety, and fostering a culture of problem-solving.
  • Execute CI projects that deliver measurable results in cost reduction, labor efficiency, asset utilization, and environmental sustainability.

You’ll Bring :

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Paper Science, Chemistry, Mechanical, Industrial), Manufacturing, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing experience with proven application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience guiding and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with expertise in root cause analysis and statistical tools (Minitab preferred).
  • Excellent communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel required) and operational software.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
