Overview

McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Resource Team Counselor to work with the Outpatient programs at its headquarters in Charlotte. Our mission is to build a foundation of healing and hope based on equity, education, and evidence-based practice for all communities. A nonprofit founded in 1969 in Charlotte, North Carolina, we have since grown to be one of the largest providers of comprehensive substance use disorder treatment in western North Carolina. From initial assessment to customized aftercare, McLeod Centers provides compassionate, steadfast support for our patients' journey to recovery. McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Resource Team Counselor to work with the Outpatient programs at its headquarters in Charlotte.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based counseling and education, within the scope of certification or licensure, to clients experiencing effects of mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Assist clients in formulating treatment and discharge plans.
  • Monitor clients' progress to evaluate success of treatment and adapt therapy as needed.
  • Document clients' progress within required timeframes.
  • Staff clients' cases with treatment team, as necessary.
  • Adhere to all agency, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Counsel family members as needed to assist them in managing addiction and providing support for the client.
  • Refer and coordinate care with other support services for clients as needed.
  • Assist the authorization department with documents needed to request treatment authorization.
  • Attend clinical supervision, as required.

Qualifications

  • Academic requirements vary by specific licensure and certification. Bachelor's or Master's degree with concentration in Counseling, Addiction Studies, or similar discipline preferred.
  • Valid License or Associate Status of one or more of the following : LCAS, LCMHC, LMFT, LCSW; or valid certification or Intern status as a CADC recognized by the NCASPPB or other state offering reciprocity.
