Description :

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a 1099 contracted position. We are currently looking for a dynamic therapist, passionate about working with children and teens, available during evening and / or weekend hours. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team if desired and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings or supervision. This position serves both in person and telehealth clients.

  • Experience working with children with a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, foster care or adoption.
  • Must have LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent but open to an LSW or LAPC who is within one year of obtaining full clinical licensure. Supervision towards licensure can be provided.
  • Must practice from a trauma informed lens
  • Must have evening and / or Saturday availability
  • Open to new professionals!

Requirements :

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required.
  • Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC or LCSW) or licensure (LSW, LAPC) with ability to obtain clinical licensure within first year of hire required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in clinical work with children required.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required.
  • Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required.
  • Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.
  • Experience working with children with a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, foster care or adoption preferred.
