Lubricant Specialist

Drivers at United Quality Cooperative are responsible for delivering a variety of lubricants and related products to customers in a safe and efficient manner while providing the highest levels of customer service. The Lubricant Specialist supplements the sales team by promoting our brand and driving sales growth via Outside Sales strategies.

Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of company equipment in the accurate delivery of product to customers.
  • Build relationships with potential customers through calls and visits.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service by representing the company professionally and promoting a wide range of lubricant products and more.
  • Perform truck inspections and report condition of the truck at the beginning and end of each trip or tour of duty.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver's record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law.
  • Unload trucks, perform inventory counts, sort and place materials or items in proper inventory locations.
  • Make small, local deliveries of product as needed.
  • Set up customer storage and correctly label product destinations.
  • Fill customer's exchange drums / totes via bulk DEF and Lubricant storage.
  • Negotiate prices and demonstrate product knowledge.
  • Prepare reports and manage inventory levels.
  • Fill residential propane in off-season and take all training requirements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • High school diploma or GED, with three months or more related experience and / or training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proven relationship-building skills and leadership potential.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • CDL Class B with Hazmat, Airbrake, and Tanker endorsements; will allow up to 60 days to obtain Hazmat endorsement. UQC will train the right candidate.
  • Forklift training preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
  • Preferred Requirements :

  • Physical Demands :

    The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position it is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, or sit in a cab for long periods of time. One must also have the ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Other physical demands may include : use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    This position requires that individuals must regularly lift and / or move hoses and fittings that weigh up to 50 pounds and can climb steps and ladders. An individual in this position must demonstrate a high level of attention and skill in operating a tractor trailer to ensure the safety of the driver, the public, property, and equipment. This position requires sufficient auditory and verbal capabilities to effectively hear, understand, and communicate with others in a variety of environments. This position also has vision requirements including close-range vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift, carry 50lbs occasionally, push or pull up to 75lbs and pull delivery hose considerable distances to end user tanks.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Lubricant Specialist encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the Lubricant Specialist occasionally works in high, precarious places; in all weather conditions including extreme cold; and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, dust, noise, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
