Position Summary
The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center is seeking a full-time Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA). Reporting to the Clinical Genetic Counselor and Sr. Manager, the GCA will support genetic research projects and clinical responsibilities. This role offers valuable experience for those interested in graduate programs in genetics or genetic counseling, or in research management. Prior genetics expertise is not required, as training and education will be provided.
Responsibilities
Support clinical research studies by reviewing participant and physician inquiriesPrepare for research visits by reviewing medical records and family historiesCoordinate appointments and communicate with participants and staffProcess and ship specimens for genetic testingAssist in scheduling genetic counseling appointmentsHelp manage the workflow of genetic testing alongside the teamPerform chart reviews and maintain research programsDevelop surveys, create databases, and organize medical records as neededUpload documents into electronic medical recordsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceOther Requirements
