Job Title : Referral Coordinator

Job Description : To obtain referrals and authorizations for patient office and procedure visits in a timely manner.
Role and Responsibilities
Administrative
- Coordinate referral / authorization for patient appointments
- Verify patient insurance coverage
- Contact patient insurance and submit appropriate codes if a referral / authorization is needed for the patient appointment
- Maintain and update patient medical records, insurance, and demographics
- Scheduling patient general dermatology and surgical appointments
- Keep track and manage referrals / authorizations daily to ensure active referrals / authorizations are in place for patient general visits and procedures

High school diploma, AA degree or higher. Knowledgeable in computer programs, EMR systems, customer service, excellent verbal communication skills. Minimum of 1 year experience in a billing or referral coordinator role preferred.
