Physical Therapist – Outpatient & Acute Care  – Travel Position

Location : Fort Dodge, IA

Job Type : Travel Contract

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 5x8s Days

Pay : $2,415 / week

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join an outpatient and acute care facility in Fort Dodge, IA on a 13-week travel assignment. The Physical Therapist will provide comprehensive rehabilitative services to patients recovering from illness, surgery, or injury, both in outpatient and acute hospital settings. The ideal candidate is adaptable, patient-focused, and experienced in delivering therapy across multiple care environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed physical therapy evaluations for patients in both outpatient and acute care settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions including gait training, strengthening, balance training, and mobility support.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment goals, safe exercise programs, and use of assistive devices.
  • Document evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress notes accurately and in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, and medical staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Support recovery, independence, and quality of life through evidence-based PT practices.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid PT license in Iowa (or compact eligibility).
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PT experience in outpatient or acute care settings.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and adaptable approach with experience treating diverse patient populations.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
