The Post-Doc Fellowship is a generalist program designed to train clinical, neuropsychology, and school psychologists for competent and responsible professional work in the postdoctoral year.It is the expectation that Post-Doc Fellows will utilize their year to broaden and extend their practice of psychology, and narrow their focus into specific areas of specialization. While Post-Doc Fellows have the opportunity to refine skills already developed in graduate school and the pre-doctoral internship year, we also strongly encourage Post-Doc Fellows to try new approaches, new techniques, and new perspectives. This will result in opportunities to put into practice the skills learned in graduate school and the internship year into various clinical settings and rotations that are offered. The basic requirement of the training program is satisfactory performance in applied clinical work in a minimum of three of the following clinical areas : Outpatient Psychological and / or Neuropsychological Testing, Counseling (individual, families, and groups), clinical skills applied in a Partial Hospitalization Program on a ranch, School Psychology and behavioral psychology (applied behavior analysis program) in a program for children on the Autism Spectrum. There are also opportunities for activities related to forensic psychology.Real Hope Real Help will provide educational offerings including a didactic series from several sources, supervision, and training designed to hone and refine the skills of the Post Doc Fellow to ensure that he / she is ready for independent practice and licensure.
