Shift : Full Time – Day Shift
Salary : $105,000 annually
About the Role
Optima Care Harborview is seeking a compassionate and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will support the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring residents receive exceptional care, and guiding staff to perform at the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the DON / ADON with day-to-day nursing department operations.
Ensure nursing staff adhere to their assigned responsibilities and standards of care.
Address complaints and grievances, escalating to DON when necessary.
Oversee unit management and collaborate with DON on staffing and coverage needs.
Manage staff utilization to minimize overtime and agency reliance.
Implement progressive counseling and disciplinary actions as needed.
Provide leadership and supervision to professional and non-professional staff.
Participate in committee meetings, quality assurance activities, and staff recruitment.
Cover nursing responsibilities on weekends and holidays as required.
Support staff development by teaching and evaluating nursing skills.
Oversee MDS completion for the unit.
Work with residents, families, and care teams on discharge planning.
Prepare reports, review records, and participate in data collection.
Foster a compassionate environment that prioritizes resident dignity, needs, and rights.
Requirements
Valid RN license in New Jersey.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related healthcare setting preferred.
At least six months of experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing.
Previous long-term care experience strongly preferred.
