We are seeking Clinical Assistants who are passionate about making a difference in our community. Our Clinical Assistants perform a variety of duties that are clerical in nature, as well as assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of licensed medical and / or licensed nursing personnel.

A Day in the Life of a Clinical Assistant may look like this :
Administrative Duties :
- Provide initial customer service to all patients including but not limited to greeting patients, scheduling and confirming patient appointments using a multi-line phone, performing data entry into Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for patient information, and creating patient files
- Facilitate patient check-in and check-out, explain patient payment options, including sliding scare fees, Medicare, Medicaid and other forms of payment assistance
- Complete patient intake, income screenings, and conduct insurance verifications and authorizations
- Collect and post patient payments; prepare deposits and follow established cash handling procedures
- Provide conflict resolution and response to patient grievances
- Create and maintain confidential patient files and records
- All other duties as assigned
Clinical Duties :
Obtain and document patient history, patient communication, and clinical treatment accurately and appropriatelyObtain and measure vital signs and record information on patients' chartsPrepare and maintain examination / treatment rooms, including cleaning, sterilizing instruments, and inventory of medical supplies and materialsExplain treatment procedures to patients under direction of licensed medical and / or licensed nursing staffMay be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysisPrepare and administer medications as ordered by licensed medical and / or licensed nursing staffPerform routine diagnostic and laboratory testWe ask our Clinical Assistant to possess a minimum of :
High school diploma or GEDCompletion of a Medical Assistant ProgramBasic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red CrossSix (6) months prior experience in a professional administrative or related capacityThe following experience / skills are preferred :
Certification as a Medical Assistant received from a certifying body recognized by Lone Star Circle of Care in its reasonable discretionPrior professional experience as a Medical AssistantPrevious work using electronic medical records (EMR)Bilingual English / Spanish skills
