The Group Facilitator supports individuals in their journey towards addressing mental health and recovery from substance abuse and addiction. This role is responsible for leading and facilitating group therapy sessions, providing support, guidance, and education to individuals struggling with addiction, and helping them develop the necessary skills to achieve and maintain sobriety.
Education Requirements : High School Diploma or GED.
License Requirements :
- CDCA License required, QMHS III certificate preferred.
- CPR Certification required, will train upon hire.
Job Responsibilities Include :
Plan and facilitate group therapy sessions for individuals in various stages of addiction recovery.Create a safe and supportive environment for group members to share their experiences, challenges, and successes.Educate group members about addiction, recovery principles, coping strategies, and relapse prevention techniques.Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions to address the unique needs of each group member.Collaborate with other addiction treatment professionals, such as counselors, social workers, and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive care for group members.Assist group members in setting and achieving realistic goals for their recovery journey.Conduct individual assessments to evaluate the progress and needs of group members.Maintain accurate and confidential records of group attendance, progress notes, and treatment plans.Provide crisis intervention and support to group members experiencing acute emotional distress or substance abuse cravings.Stay informed about current research, best practices, and trends in addiction treatment and recovery.Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen (required).
