Fiber Optic Technician

Overview

JMS Energy is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems across a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow JMS safety standards on-site, prioritizing and demonstrating safe behavior
• Adhere to safety protocols, including lockout / tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and job site hazard assessments
• Perform fiber splicing, termination, and testing
• Conduct OTDR and power meter testing to ensure optimal system performance
• Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber lines or signal issues
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
• Comply with OSHA, NFPA 70E and site-specific safety requirements in all daily activities and tasks
• Other duties as assigned
