PURPOSE :
Non-Tenure Track Position in BSN Program. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (as assigned) in the School of Nursing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
- Collaborate with other faculty members with development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
- Provide appropriate classroom / laboratory / clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing course(s).
- Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops and classes for self-improvement and / or professional enhancement.
- Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.
- Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing. Maintain professional development activities.
- Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Previous teaching experience preferred.Two years of full-time clinical experience in the area / areas of teaching responsibility.Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Current / unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri.Current healthcare provider CPR.Masters in nursing degree required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
