Instructors apply the Student-Centered Active Education model to teach, inspire, motivate, guide, and support students in their assigned courses and programs. Instructors are expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and lifelong learning, including participating in regular faculty and professional development activities to advance the practice of teaching and learning at SAE.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach classes as assigned in accordance with all SAE policies and procedures.Deliver instruction in alignment with the Student-Centered Active Education model.Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement.Participate in academic advising, curriculum development, and campus events such as workshops, new student orientation, and graduation.Manage the learning environment by keeping attendance records, submitting grades and reports on time, and enforcing policies.Plan and prepare for classes, develop course activities supporting learning outcomes.Support absent and high-risk students through contact and documentation.Complete annual faculty development activities to improve instructional skills and support diverse learners.Maintain instructor eligibility per applicable regulations.For full-time instructors : supervise makeup sessions, provide tutoring, academic advising, support faculty development, and substitute as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
For General Education courses : A master's degree with 18 semester or 24 quarter credits in the course area.For program courses toward a Diploma or Associate's Degree : A bachelor's degree and 4 years of industry experience.For program courses toward a Bachelor's degree : A master's degree and 4 years of industry experience.In rare cases, extensive work experience may substitute for degrees with approval and ongoing progress.Additional Skills
Familiarity with Canvas LMSKnowledge of learner-centered, active, problem-based, and project-based learning methodologiesAdvanced skills in Google Sheets and Microsoft ExcelPhysical Requirements
Sitting and standing for long periods, handling files, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, moving within the organization, minimal reaching, keyboard and VDT use for prolonged periods.
