  • Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse providing safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.\n
  • Delivers patient care incorporating Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing standards.\n
  • Assesses and evaluates patient care needs applying critical thinking skills.\n
  • Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.\n
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team in plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation.\n
  • Prioritizes patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating as appropriate.\n
  • Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.\n
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family, and healthcare team members.\n
  • Manages assignments within Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model and allocates material resources effectively.\n
  • Role models Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through various patient care actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside shift Report, HELP, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, and MD / RN Unit Collaboration.\n
  • Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in care.\n
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.\n
  • Uses evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care.\n
  • Initiates service recovery for patient and family concerns and escalates as needed.\n
  • Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.\n
  • Supports staff use of evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions.\n
  • Conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding addressing the 4 Ps.\n

  • Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in patient population served.\n
  • Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional and evidence-based procedures.\n

  • NYS RN License required.\n
  • BLS certification required.\n
  • ACLS certification required.\n
  • NRP certification required.\n
  • Minimum 2 years of intrapartum nursing experience.\n
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience.\n
  • 1 year travel experience required for Travel positions (not required for Per Diem).\n
  • EPIC experience highly preferred.\n\nSchedule Information\n
  • Schedule : 3x12 hour shifts.\n\nUnit Specific Information\n
  • Unit is Labor and Delivery (L&D) within Women & Children's Services.\n\nAdditional Details\n
  • Position is within Women & Children's Services at Mount Sinai Hospital.
